Destination Health welcomes its new partner Elite Medical Services
The network of International partners of Destination Health continues to grow and welcomes EMS – Elite Medical Services, a Medical advising company offering a bespoke assistance to patients with severe diseases seeking for the best medical care in Italy or Egypt. EMS guides its patients during their diagnostic and therapeutic journey to find top level healthcare providers for their needs, especially in oncology, cardiology, orthopedics, neurology and pediatrics.
EMS will be the representative of Destination Health for Africa, supporting business development of Italian hospitals towards the medical class, government institutions, insurances, facilitators and general public through dedicated projects
In this interview, released during Intercare 2017, Davide Maged, Founder and Ceo of Elite Medical Services, explains his approach to dealing with high complexity patients.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS PROJECT?
Foreword
Time of everyone is limited. We understand this and want to be in time to make the project that helps millions of people improve & save their lives. We can’t see the inaction anymore, when people die because of financing/time lack or too high prices for disease treatment.
There is no easy way for a patient to become “smarter” at purchasing health care. There is a great difference between expectation and perception of patients and healthcare providers in terms of Access and Quality dimensions in provision of healthcare services delivery. Also negative gap score in accessibility dimensions signifies that patients are not considering these barriers (e.g. transportation cost, drugs availability, cost of services, staff skills, trust and community preference) as an important barriers in accessing the healthcare services in context to their priority levels.
The average cost of medical treatment is rising day by day. Most projects which exist now help connect patient and doctor using the similar scenario to offer/guide patient clinics & doctors who cooperate with this project and receive fee, as the % from the spent treatment amount by patient or provide patient with access to doctors who have paid membership fee in their project.
We are deeply concerned, whether mediators who connect patients and doctors, are willing to lobby not the best healthcare providers but the most suitable ones for them.
All people, involved in the health delivery process, should “squeeze” maximum at each stage and do everything possible to save lives. The SEARCH-DOC team wants to improve the level of health service delivery and use it as the opportunity to continue the lives-saving mission.
We, as the founders of the SEARCH-DOC project, have decided to make the hybrid healthcare platform that allows people no longer search for a doctor/method of treatment in different resources. People will have one place where they post their request and doctors or clinics will immediately react and provide the best options for medical care.
PROBLEMS OF MODERN HEALTHCARE PLATFORMS
Absence of an alternative solution which will provide the best proposal for medical care provision, starting from the patients‘ needs without prior doctor consultation based on the treatment request;
Lack of a unified platform that allows them to offer comprehensive medical assistance, obtaining the required set of health services from various countries (medical tourism included), as well as allowing doctors to be able to consult online on patient treatment (discuss / clarify the treatment plan) on a confidential basis;
Absence of the platform on the market with a concentration of doctors, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, donors / philanthropists in the same pool and the implementation of mechanisms for effective interaction using the principle” best choice” for each treatment request;
Lack of platform and/or network solutions for the patient where he/she can obtain the second opinion. If it’s not an emergency care and patient isn’t confident in the preliminary diagnostic + further therapy mapping, he/she can’t move forward;
absence of a specialized social network which allows uniting patients/ doctors/ clinics by homogeneous health problems/ treatments/ pharmacological properties of drugs/ patient’s groups.
WHAT DO WE SEE FROM OFFICIAL REPORTING AND TV EVERY DAY?
The World Bank’s own press release announced that “400 million people do not have access to essential health services. It’s a huge number! SEARCH-DOC allows using a full set of existing communication methods such as revolutionary query processing of patient’s request by doctors, online consultation, meeting appointment, online medical documentation transferring and “Second Opinion” receiving. There is also a problem of poor healthcare provision and assistance in remote and rural areas that can be solved with the help of Search-doc platform instruments.
One more example of the serious gap in a healthcare:
Each year, the parents of approximately 15,700 kids will hear the words “your child has cancer.” Across all ages, ethnic groups and socio-economics, this disease remains the number one cause of death by disease in children.
Every day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer.
12% of children diagnosed with cancer do not survive.
More than 40,000 children undergo treatment for cancer each year.
60% of children who survive cancer suffer late-effects, such as infertility, heart failure and secondary cancers.

MODEL OF HEALTHCARE PLATFORM
We are rotating a typical view on clinics & patients’ relationship by 180 degrees. The main goal of the project is to put in the center the treatment request of each single patient and provide patients with plenty of options to make the right choice that is going to be the best one for them.
WHY IS THE COMMUNICATION REVOLUTIONARY AND SIMPLE?
STEP 1: CREATE YOUR PROFILE/MAKE THE EMERGENCY REQUEST
STEP 2: CREATE A REQUEST: Post a request for a specific need – hernia repair, hip replacement, colonoscopy, MRI, cataract surgery, a simple yearly physical or smth else. If you have a health problem but no diagnosis, you can ask for a consultation with a specialist. You will not need to answer questions or give concise details and medical history.
STEP 3: You need to select your location/desirable for a treatment location and choose the category for your request, put the suitable consultation price for treatment procedure that you expect to receive.
STEP 4: ACCEPT THE OFFER FROM DOCTOR/CLINIC: When you see a physician or facility that is right for you, click “Accept this offer”. You will receive contact information promptly. Now the doctor has an access to your contact details provided.
Also a patient can see price from the doctor or facility based on his/her unique needs.
SECURITY COMMUNICATION: Built-in messenger allows communicating safe & directly with few doctors simultaneously. It’s completely private and secure. Once you choose your doctor, the relationship is directly between you and the doctor. You will pay the doctor directly after you make the decision to use him/her or receive the full cycle of treatment services.
THE MAIN TARGET OF THE PROJECT:
Make it simple & free of charge for each patient in case of interaction with the doctor and/or clinic;
Make services of the website cheap & available for all doctors & clinics;
Implement revolutionary algorithm of query processing that allows paying only for selected request without monthly membership (“Try before use” model);
Give each patient who needs healthcare the opportunity of easy & productive communication between patient & donor/ clinic & doctor in case of free treatment obtaining;
Make the platform with no border/finance/time limits that allows helping patients 24/7.
THE MAIN ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE PROJECT:
Rise enough funds to develop:
Independent healthcare platform that allows helping people with treatment process;
Provide healthcare FREE OF CHARGE to every person in the world who needs it;
Help people obtain healthcare support in time;
Expand and to be the worldwide bilingual medical Patient-to-Doctor Platform.
WHY 75,000 USD?
Based on our cash flow forecast we will need at least 75,000 USD to finish the project up to Beta/ 1.0 version or 165,000 USD for successful project implementation and popularization among healthcare providers. The founders of the project are currently financing development from their own savings and some charity funds.
For which purpose we expect to spend our money?
Project Development cycle (50%): Beta/ 1.0 version of the project finalization with high security level; Opening local/remote representations for sales team. Now the level of the project completion is 40%, all the money collected will be spent mostly to finish the desktop version. Now, we have the lack of financing to be able to start beta version testing. Actually, already at this stage SEARCH-DOC starts saving lives and it is free to everyone who wants to participate.
Mobile Application development (20%): Develop IOS/Android application for the easiest access of patient/doctors to the healthcare platform, bring this project to every family, even elderly people can use this application for their own purposes.
Operational costs & local representatives opening (less than 20%): costs for renting a small office space, materials & office equipment, cell, internet, travel, corporate cost.
Fundraising Fees (8%): Part of our funding will go to IndieGoGo and Credit Card fees.
Legal (2%): The documentary needs to follow strict legal protocols to protect rights of participants of the projects.
WHO IS THIS PROJECT CONCERNED TO?
All of us have families & friends and meet people who ask for help to collect money for urgent treatment care daily (cancer, neurosurgery problem, heart problems, etc.) It’s very hard to see the situation when all money is accumulated but the time is over and one’s life is lost…
The project is focused on:
each client that looks for a medical specialist in a particular area with a full or partial knowledge of his/her problems/has a desire to get service within his/her budget, time frame, specific geographical factor;
patients who do not have enough money for treatment, with limited terms of getting health care;

CHARITY COMPONENT OF SEARCH-DOC PROJECT
The portion of funds, generated by the project will be directed to people who need urgent healthcare support based on priority system which has been implemented inside.
Advantages in charity donation & trial clinical investigation will be given to children under the age of 12 and teenagers.
Portion of the project profit will be directed to a new research & Red Cross programs.

WHO WE ARE
Co-founder of the project: Maxim Tyagly, Ukrainian by nationality. My family has more than 60-year-old tradition of being doctors and I believe that the best medical practice can be combined with modern medicine technology. I run Search-Doc because I want to help patient & healthcare providers find each other & help as many people who need funds for urgent treatment as I can. Born in Ukraine, I immigrated to Montenegro. During the last 8 years I’ve consulted and helped to run more than 25 different medical projects in CIS market (MRI, CT, beauty surgery oncology centers). I’ve decided that I need to make something new that allows saving lives, helping people from different countries to have high-level medical care. At the same time the project will be scalable & easy for implementation worldwide. And I decided to fulfill all my ideas, accumulating long-term experience and innovative thoughts that resulted in the creation of HealthCare Platform.
Co-founder of the project: Alexander Ledok, He runs Search-Doc because he wants to implement all his best experience of .Net Developer & IT Architecture to build the unified platform that helps patient & healthcare providers find each other & build the most effective scheme of interaction.
